Boiler Retra Univer M 40 kW

New! State-of-the-art development! Unique long-burning boilers. Solid fuel steel hot water boiler for burning milled peat, pellets, wood chips, sawdust, briquettes, coal, and wood.

In the current era of energy shortages, there is a need to burn a natural fuel—milled peat. Existing designs feature boiler units with enormous power outputs of 1 MW and above, with complex systems for preparing the peat for combustion, including drying and stabilization (by mixing in fine coal).

FOR THE FIRST TIME, we have developed and tested a peat combustion system!!!

The boiler "Retra UNIVER M" is a monoblock type consisting of: a hopper with a screw feed, a fan, an ash box, a convection section with a refractory glass, turbulence channels and a smoke exhauster for discharging flue gases into the chimney, as well as a control panel.

During peat combustion, combustion products (fuel gases) pass through the refractory cup and are additionally heated. As they pass through the flue gas ducts with turbulators, they swirl and receive additional heat transfer energy. This increases boiler efficiency to 97%.

In the boilers of the Retra Univer M model series, fuel supply occurs automatically; the mechanized fuel supply includes a hopper, an auger-type fuel supply mechanism, and a gear motor.

In boilers of the Retra Univer P model range, fuel supply is done manually.

The boilers are equipped with a lined pyrolysis gas afterburner. A microprocessor control panel controls the boiler and heating system.

The boilers operate on the principle of lower combustion of fuel and are designed for operation in central water heating systems with forced (closed heating system under pressure) or natural (open heating system) circulation of the coolant in residential buildings, summer cottages, industrial and warehouse premises, retail facilities, social and administrative buildings.

The Retra-UNIVER M and Retra-UNIVER R solid fuel boilers are domestic boilers that operate using the top-firing principle. The walls and grate are water-cooled and made of high-quality sheet steel. Fuel loading in the Retra-UNIVER M series boilers is automatic, while in the Retra-UNIVER R series boilers, it is manual. Ash removal from the grate is manual in both series. The boilers are equipped with a mechanical fuel aerator.

The design of the Retra-UNIVER M boiler

The boiler is a monoblock, which consists of the boiler body itself (item 1), a removable hopper for fine-grained fuel, mounted on one of the body frames. The boiler body (except for the front wall) is heat-insulated (item 3). The convective part of the boiler consists of a partition (item 19) in the tube filling of which there are turbulators (item 4) and a mechanism for driving turbulators (item 21). For combustion of wet fuel, a fireproof sleeve (item 6) is installed. The furnace of the shaft-type boiler is separated from the convective part by a partition (item 18). A hatch (item 20) for manual loading of fuel is mounted on top of the furnace. The furnace is equipped with a stud hatch (item 7). The fuel is burned on a cast-iron easily removable grate. The ash pit is equipped with a pedal-type grate cleaning mechanism (item 8), an ash hatch (item 9) with a primary air damper (item 10). Upper (item 23) and lower (item 24) hatches are provided for cleaning the convective part of the boiler. A rotary damper (item 28) is provided for draught regulation. Boiler operation is controlled using the control panel (item 17).


In the bunker (pos. 16) for fine-grained fuel, a pushing-type fuel feed mechanism is mounted, which consists of a drive (pos. 11), a fuel feed control valve (pos. 13), and a fuel thrower (pos. 14). To limit air suction from the bunker, a check valve (pos. 15) is installed. Water is supplied to the boiler from the network through the nozzle (pos. 25), and heated water is supplied to the network through the nozzle (pos. 27). Water is fed to and drained from the boiler through the nozzle (pos. 26). Provision is made for installation of a safety valve (pos. 29). The control panel is installed on the boiler body. For peat combustion, an easily disassemblable partition is provided, consisting of a lined inclined insert (pos. 30) and two side plates, with an air box and a primary air fan (pos. 5). The supply of secondary air is regulated by a damper (pos. 31).

Operating principle. Water from the heating system enters the boiler through the return pipe (item 25) and spreads throughout the internal cavities of the heat exchanger. Along its metal walls, it absorbs heat from the burning fuel (via contact and radiation in the furnace) and the combustion gases (via convection in the remaining parts of the heat exchanger). Heated water enters the heating system through the supply pipe (item 27).

Starting a cold boiler should only begin after ensuring that the boiler is sealed and actually filled with water. The ashpit door should be slightly opened. Continue burning dry wood for 0.5 hours, gradually increasing the boiler outlet water temperature to 70°C.

For the first 3-4 days, it is recommended to continuously operate the boiler at an outlet water temperature of 70-80°C. Subsequently, the Retro-UNIVER M boiler can be programmed using the electronic controller according to the instructions provided in the controller (electronic control panel) manual.


The boilers are designed to operate under the following conditions

  • ambient temperature from +5 to +40°С;
  • relative air humidity from 30 to 80%;
  • the room is closed, without sudden changes in temperature.
