The pellet burner and hopper are not included in the kit and must be purchased separately.

The RETRA-5M KOMFORT solid fuel boilers are domestic boilers that can be equipped with a pellet burner (torch type) and a fuel supply system with a hopper. The boiler operation is controlled by a microprocessor, with automatic fuel supply (primary mode). The RETRA-5M KOMFORT boilers also feature a turbocharger and a control panel for manual fuel loading (standby mode).

The boilers are designed for operation in central water heating systems with forced (closed pressure heating system) or natural (open heating system) circulation of the coolant for heating and hot water supply of residential buildings, summer cottages, industrial and warehouse premises, retail facilities, social and administrative buildings.

Optionally, the Retra-5M KOMFORT boilers are adapted to operate in two modes:

1. Automatic fuel supply (pellets from various types of wood).
   
2. Manual fuel supply (wood, coal, briquettes, etc. large-fraction fuel).

Boiler device

The steel heat exchanger (1) consists of two parts: the lower part houses the combustion chamber (2), while the upper part contains straight baffles (3), which form the heat exchanger's convection channels. The straight baffles and the heat exchanger walls are water-cooled, forming the so-called "water jacket." Combustion occurs in the combustion chamber using a flare burner (27) in automatic mode or on water-cooled grate bars (22) in manual mode. An ash pan (11) is located in the grate bar. Flue gases, after passing through the heat exchanger's convection channels, enter the chimney (4).

HOW THE BOILER WORKS

Water from the heating system enters the boiler through the return pipe, spreads throughout the internal cavities of the heat exchanger, and, along its metal walls, absorbs heat from the burning fuel (via contact and radiation in the furnace) and the combustion gases (via convection in the remaining parts of the heat exchanger). Heated water enters the heating system through supply pipe 16.

Lighting a cold boiler should only begin after ensuring the boiler is sealed and truly filled with water. Open the ashpit door slightly. Lighting should be carried out with dry wood for 0.5 hours, gradually increasing the boiler outlet water temperature to 70°C. For the first time, the boiler should be heated in manual (standby) mode without a supply ventilation system (without a fan), regulating the air flow by opening the ashpit door and remembering to turn on the central heating pump when the boiler outlet temperature exceeds 40°C (subsequently, when using the fan, the pump, which is connected to the controller, will turn on automatically).

The Retra-5M KOMFORT boilers with a pellet burner and automatic fuel feed have a built-in auto-ignition function (detailed information on igniting a boiler with a pellet burner and setting up the boiler operation is described in the pellet burner data sheet).

For the first 2-3 days, it is recommended to run the boiler continuously at an outlet water temperature of 70-80°C (to eliminate condensate). Subsequently, you can program the boiler operation on the electronic controller according to the instructions provided in the controller (electronic control panel) manual.

After ignition in the boilers of the “Retra-5M KOMFORT” model, the combustion process and fuel supply are controlled automatically using an electronic control unit (controller).

The primary and secondary air distribution system in the Retra-5M KOMFORT boilers allows the boiler to operate after all doors and hatches are tightly closed, according to the operating parameters set on the controller. The only responsibility of the maintenance personnel is to promptly refill the combustion chamber (in manual mode) and the hopper (in automatic mode) with fuel.

Using a pellet burner in boilers of the Retra-5M KOMFORT model series

To install a pellet burner on the Retra-5M KOMFORT boiler, remove the bottom hatch plugs and install the pellet burner in their place. Follow the instructions provided with the pellet burner.
