The operation of a long-burning boiler is based on a simple principle: a match burns much more slowly if it is burned vertically with the flame upwards, rather than upside down or horizontally.

Most long-burning boilers use this combustion principle, which begins combustion in the top layer (12-15 cm) and, as the fuel burns down, moves downwards to the remaining fuel, drier and more efficiently burning the bottom layer. This combustion system does not heat the heat exchanger body above 550°C, thereby increasing the boiler's longevity.

The top-firing principle enables boiler efficiencies of up to 91% and record-breaking long-burn times, unmatched by other solid fuel boilers. The boiler can operate for up to 5 days on a single load of coal.
