The Afriso ATV thermostatic valve , installed on the boiler 's return line, protects the solid fuel boiler from corrosion caused by too-low a temperature of the water returning to the heat source. Maintaining the return temperature at a constant, manufacturer-preset level protects the boiler from moisture condensation and the damaging effects of fouling the heat exchanger and chimney.

A correspondingly high water return temperature extends the life of a solid fuel boiler and increases its efficiency. ATV thermostatic valves can also function as diverter valves. An Afriso ATV thermostatic valve should be installed in every system.
