A storage water heater (hereinafter referred to as a water heater) is designed to heat domestic hot water using electricity. The water is heated by an electric element in an enameled, insulated tank. The electric element is controlled during heating by a thermostat, which allows for a smooth setting of the desired temperature (ranging from 5 to 74°C). Once the selected temperature is reached, heating automatically stops. The water stored in the water heater is then consumed. The tank maintains constant water pressure from the mains. When the hot water faucet is open, water flows out of the heater under the pressure of cold water from the mains. Hot water flows out the top, while the incoming water remains in the bottom of the heater. The pressure principle allows hot water to be consumed at any distance from the heater.
